Located in a city centre, the cantelevered balcony was designed for a modern couple who were looking to create a tropical theme to their outside space. The challenges were to find plants to withstand the elements, provide year round interest and the irrigation to not interfere with the lower balconies.
Grown Up Garden
This conceptual design was for a rear garden of a client in East London.
After years of the garden being used by the family as a play area, the time had come to change the garden into an adult zone with areas for socialising and relaxing rather than play.
The idea was be to push the lower ground back to allow for a dining area to be created. The steps lead to a curved pathway with led to a circular lawn enclosed by perennial borders, full of sun loving plants and some trees to provide height and structure. To the rear, a secret lounge area with a fire pit will provided a perfect space away from the hustle and bustle of the house.
City Roof Terrace
A south facing roof terrace transformed into a tranquil space. Using a light weight subframe and composite decking for the floor and lightweight, aluminium powder coated planters. An installation of a water rill was included to keep things cool in this sunny space.
Long Garden Water Feature
Located in a city centre, the bespoke water feature provides the sound of water falling creating a relaxed, ambient environment.
